Dr. Gittens holds a BA Degree in Political Science, Master’s degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Supervision and a Ph.D. in Business Management. Dr. Gittens also holds a Certified Hospitality Educator, (CHE) Certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and a CHT, Certified Hospitality Trainer certification. In February of 2016, she was appointed by AHLEI as a Master CHE Trainer, one of only 13 in the world.
She is the author of The Pie Philosophy and works to provide hospitality clients throughout the Caribbean with organizational development services, American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) certifications, conference & seminar planning, and keynote speaker services.
Some accolades: In August 2000, Ashford University’s recognized Dr. Gittens as Professor of the year for her outstanding academic excellence and her instructional brilliance. In early November 2015 Dr. Gittens was offered her own talk show “Women Winning At Life!” on SOS. 95.9 Radio in St. Maarten that debuted on Jan 6, 2016. In March of 2016, she was selected by the Ministry of Labor to be the Keynote Speaker for International Women’s Day on the island of St. Maarten and in April of 2016 Dr. Gittens was selected by First-Caribbean ask their Keynote Speaker for the Customer Service Kick Off Campaign based on her expertise in Customer Service Excellence Programs.
